Muistomaisema is an artistic project maintained on a small scale by a private individual. The paid candles are a way to support the service and do not constitute a large-scale online shop.

2. Service description

On the website, users can light virtual candles and write memorial messages.

3. Candle types and duration

The website has four types of candles:

  • Free candle, duration 24 hours

  • Silver candle, duration 7 days

  • Gold candle, duration 14 days

Candles are automatically removed when their duration ends.

4. Paid candles

When you order a paid candle, the order is confirmed upon payment. Payments are processed securely via Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.). Muistomaisema.fi does not receive or store your payment card details.

Upon payment, I ensure that your candle and memorial words are displayed for the chosen duration (7 or 14 days). Data related to the candle remains in the service for that period.

As this is a digital service that is delivered immediately, there is no right of refund unless a technical error occurs during the payment.

If the payment succeeds but the candle does not light at all, please contact the address mentioned in section 9.

5. User responsibility for content

The user is responsible for the content they write.
The service administrator has the right to remove messages that are:

  • offensive

  • illegal

  • advertisements

  • violating another person's privacy

  • technically harmful

6. Intellectual property rights

The landscape, graphics, illustrations, the website’s visual design, and the technical implementation of the Muistomaisema WordPress plugin are copyrighted by Karoliina Paappa. Users may not copy or use them for commercial purposes.

Memorial messages written by users are publicly visible as part of the service, but users retain their own rights to them.

7. Service availability and technical disruptions

Muistomaisema is an artistic digital service maintained on a small scale. The service may occasionally experience outages or technical disruptions, for example during maintenance or updates. For technical reasons, individual candles or memorial messages may sometimes be removed or lost prematurely. In such cases, the administrator is not liable for any damages. The administrator is not responsible for indirect damages or data loss.

8. Changes to the service

The administrator may update, modify, or remove features of the service.
The terms of use may be updated, and the latest version will be published on this page.
